“And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people.”
– Matthew 4:23

Another work in which all may engage is gathering children and youth into the Sabbath school. The young may in this way labor efficiently for the dear Saviour. They may shape the destinies of souls. They may do a work for the church and the world the extent and greatness of which will never be known until the day of final accounts, when the “Well done” is spoken to the good and faithful. (1)

. . .Organize your Sabbath schools and there train your children in Bible study. You want to have the missionary spirit to convert other children who will come in; you may possibly reach the parents through the children. (2)

I am deeply interested in the Sabbath-school work, and have a great desire to see it prosper. The Sabbath-school is the place where we learn of God and Christ, and learn to study the Holy Bible. If we would develop Christian characters, we must study the character of Christ, that we may come into full union with Him. (3)

The Sabbath school is a missionary field, open for all who love God. Into this work men and women may put heart-piety and soul-burdened, loving service. Those who do this, work to a purpose. The greatest earnestness, the deepest spirituality, are demanded for a Sabbath School worker. The simplicity of true religion, cherished in the hearts of superintendents and teachers, will bring angels of heaven into the school to impress and win souls. (4)

The Sabbath school work is important, and all who are interested in the truth should endeavor to make it prosperous. (5)

The Sabbath-school is an important branch of the missionary work, not only because it gives to young and old a knowledge of God’s Word, but because it awakens in them a love for its sacred truths, and a desire to study them for themselves; above all, it teaches them to regulate their lives by its holy teachings. Charge for the Day: Who can you invite to Sabbath school this upcoming Sabbath? How can you help turn the Sabbath school at your church to be more mission-focused?
